For almost 50 years now, we have been installing circulation systems in tunnel kilns used in the brick and tile industry – provided with air flow rate, pressure levels and equipment parts, as needed. The operating temperature range is meanwhile at up to 850 °C in continuous operation. The circulation systems can be fitted with high-performance burners, dampers for fresh air as well as an addition of gas flows from other kiln zones.
A permanent flow around the bricks leads to significant improvements of the heat transfer and the temperature homogenisation in the firing channel. The options in respect of the technical equipment of the circulation systems open up new opportunities in process engineering. Ultimately, heating energy is saved and the product quality is improved.
Our latest development is a combined circulation and firing system, where the burners are arranged in the injection units of the circulation system. In this way, high burner capacities are possible even at high temperatures in the kiln.
